FWLS 2025 knows its winners!

The 2025 finale delivered another exciting round of innovative ideas, creative research, and bold visions for the future. The audience and jury witnessed how science and passion can blend into practical breakthroughs with real-world potential.

The first place was awarded to Danica Ivovič (Slovak Academy of Sciences) for Breaking the Wall of Cancer Therapy Guesswork, aiming to make cancer treatment decisions smarter, faster, and more personalized.
The second place went to Šarlota Kaňuková (University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava), who impressed with Breaking the Wall of Saffron Production, exploring how to make one of the world’s most valuable spices more accessible and sustainable.
The third place was awarded to Jana Shepa (Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice) for Breaking the Wall of Biosensing, presenting ideas that may lead to more efficient tools for detecting biological changes and diseases.

With research spanning from oncology to agriculture and biosensing, FWLS 2025 once again demonstrated how bright and multidisciplinary the future of innovation in Slovakia can be.
